What Types Of Car Insurance Coverage Are?

What types of car insurance coverage offered in Singapore? Like other countries, Singapore government makes it compulsory that every car, motorbike or van owner must insure their liabilities arising from the usage of the motor vehicles. If the motor vehicles are being bought under hire purchase then comprehensive car insurance coverage is normally required by the finance company. As the car legally belongs to the finance company, it would want the widest car insurance coverage possible. Besides it is you who are paying for the car insurance premium, not the finance company.

If the motor vehicle is not under hire purchase and the vehicle is old, you may choose to have it insured under the cheaper Third Party Only Car Insurance policy. Cars owner doesn't usually bother to know what is his car insurance policy until an insurance claim arises. There are four main types of Car insurance coverage in Singapore. These are:

1) Act Liability Only

The law requires that you have to buy car insurance to protect any insurance claims made against you from using motor vehicle on the road. This car insurance policy covers only death or bodily injury to third partied including passengers. So if you injured someone in a car accident, then the car insurance companies will compensate the victim. However it does not cover property damage to third parties, nor does it covers bodily injuries to the cars owner or damage to the cars owner's vehicle. This car insurance policy also does not cover car accidents that happen in other places (e.g. private property), which are not included in the definition of a "road" under the Act.

Because of its very limited car insurance coverage, cars owner usually at the very least opt for the Third Party Only Car Insurance. In fact, minimum Third Party Only Car Insurance is a compulsory requirement for road tax renewal.

2) Third Party Only

First we have to understand what is meant by the term Third Party'. You, the one buying the car insurance are the first party. The car insurance company is the second party and the third party is anybody else.

Unlike an Act Liability Only policy, Third Party Only policy not only covers death or bodily injury to third parties including passengers, but also provides cover against damage to third-party property. However, it does not provide insurance coverage against damage to the insured's own motor vehicle. It also does not give you any insurance coverage if your car is stolen. The next type of car insurance policy that gives you more insurance coverage than Third Party Car Insurance policy is the Third Party, Fire And Theft Car Insurance policy.

3) Third Party, Fire and Theft

This is an extension of the Third Party Only Car Insurance policy in that it additionally protects the cars owner's motor vehicle against loss or damage, which may result directly from fire or theft. As the covered perils are limited to fire and theft, damage to the cars owner's motor vehicle by other peril is not covered by this car insurance policy. Hence, a cars owner who wants additional insurance coverage for his vehicle against loss or damage by other perils will have to purchase a comprehensive car insurance policy.

4) Comprehensive

This type of car insurance policy offers the broadest insurance coverage against financial loss from using a motor vehicle.

This car insurance policy not only covers the cars owner's liability for causing bodily injury (including death) or property damage to third parties including bodily injury and death to passengers, but also covers damage to the cars owner's motor vehicle.

Michigan Car Insurance Comparison Online

Auto insurance is one industry which always remains full of activity due to several various reasons. Most of the potential auto insurance buyers do not get correct and timely information about the suitable coverage they need, the extent of risk that must be covered by them, cost of coverages, claim processing, customer service, etc. For this very reason, the internet has provided a way to help consumerscomplete a car insurance comparison to ensure that they are receiving reliable protection from a reputable company at an affordable price. Individuals need to also take the time to understand the limits which are required by their particular state in order to be properly protected and abide by the states laws. Like any other state, Michigan requires that each owner and driver of an automobile must carry the proper liability coverage and it must be maintained at all times while their vehicle is being operated.

Minimum Liability:

Michig an auto insurance laws require No-fault insurance and it is against state law tooperate acar without no-fault insurance. The minimum limits of a satisfactory policy issued has three parts:

Minimum BI/PD coverage limits for the state of Michigan

Up to $20,000 for a person who isinjured or killed in an accident. Up to $40,000 for more than oneperson are hurt or killed. Up to $10,000 for property damage.

These limits are often described as 20/40/10.

However, in case of legal proceedings, courts sometimes award more than these minimum limit amounts. In such case, the insured would be responsible for paying the amount not covered by the limit on the policy. To protect themselves against these situations, consumers should compare additional coverage in order to ensure that they have adequate protection. If within a persons budget, they can choose higher limits to protect against incurring financial hardship in the event tha t they are involved in a collision in which they are found to be at fault and their policys payout has been exhausted.

Obtaining and comparing auto insurance quotesfor higher amounts of liability may surprise many, as they may find that the difference of being covered more extensively may not be as expensive as they thought. Similarly, there are some optional insurance coverages one may wish to consider. These optional coverages are not mandatory but can prove to be quite beneficial. The advantage ofutilizingthe internetfor the purpose of receiving prices for premiums is that within minutes, web surfers can receive multiple rates from a variety of insurers. This gives them the opportunity to compare not only prices but the companies as well.Although price is important, the integrity of an insu rer should be considered as well. How to Choose a California Car Insurance Provider

There are so many different companies that sell California car insurance and it can often be difficult to find the right one for your needs. While there are a lot of different elements to think about when it comes to your auto insurance, the provider that you choose to work with is going to be one of the most important decisions. It will be up to you to learn about different companies and find the one that offers the best deal on insurance (not just the cheapest rate) and a reputation for service and support.

When you are trying to choose a California car insurance provider, you should start by checking out their reputation. The best way to do this is to learn about the company, read objective reviews (not information on the provider's website), and find other sources to prove their credibility. One great resource is your state's Department of Insurance website, which has an area where you can search for and learn about all of the insurance companies in the state of California. Once you find a few companies that have good, upstanding reputations, you can move on to determine which one will be best for you.

California car insurance companies are all different. After you have found a few companies that seem like reputable sources to work with, you need to inquire about their auto insurance quotes. Fill out forms so that you can get insurance quotes from a few different companies and compare your options. You aren't just looking for the cheapest policy, though. You will want to look for the company that provides you with an affordable policy that gives you all the auto insurance coverage that you need or want. This, combined with quality service and support, is what makes an auto insurance company stand out among the rest.

California car insurance can be easier to handle if you work with a licensed agent, as well. Sometimes, you might not be able to understand what you are purchasing or how to choose the policy that will be best for your needs. By working with an independent, licensed agent, you can learn everything that you need to know about auto insurance, including which policies would be best for your needs. Their services are free to you, and they are not going to sell you a policy that won't give you exactly what you need. Whether you go it alone or enlist an agent's assistance, you have to make sure that you find the right provider for your auto insurance.

Cheap Car Insurance - How to Get It

With gas prices being the way they have people all over the country have started to get creative with their finances and the costs associated with auto travel.

Prices vary from company to company, so it pays to shop around. Get at least four to five price quotes. You will find that there are several websites out there that can save you the time from doing this the slow and hard way as they will often get you quotes from up to a dozen companies all at once. You can call companies directly or access information on the Internet. Your state insurance department may also provide comparisons of prices charged by major insurers. And no, companies like Progressive that claim they will compare other companies, but they are an insurance company, so they are not to be trusted. They only have one interest, and that is to promote their own business.

Bigger is not always better. There are several low cost automobile insurance companies offering competitive rat es in relation to the big names out there. This makes it possible to save a bundle on this expense. Many people seem to ignore this cost and tend to accept the burden of expensive insurance even when monthly payments almost match a car payment. In one case, I lowered my car insurance rates by about 50% when I found a good local company (I had switched from a really big name company).

One of the best ways to get cheap car insurance is simply to use a service that forces insurance agents and brokers to compete against one another. At the end of this article is one example of such a site. As soon as you finish your online quote request, multiple agents will contact you. But it is important to NOT sign up with any one of them immediately-Instead, let them know that you are awaiting calls from other local insurance providers. After 5 or so of these people have contacted you, you should have a good idea of what sort of range you might expect to pay.

Then , if you really want to get the cheapest car insurance possible, simply tell the agents that you are ready to buy within the next 24 hours with whichever company offers you the lowest insurance rates. This really puts the fire under them, and is sure to create the most optimal pricing for you. Of course, be sure to carry through on your promise.

If it makes sense, you may want to consider getting a bundle package. Basically, see what it might cost to insure not only your car, but also your home, property, health and life insurance. This can save a person around 10% - 30% depending on the company you go with; and it does make paying your bills easier as well.

Oh, and one more tip, remember that the more info you provide upfront, the more accurate your quotes will be, and the more likely the insurance companies will be responsive to your inquiry. This is especially true when filling out a quote from multiple companies.

Car Insurance Leads - Are They Worth the Money?

Any car insurance agent knows how competitive the insurance business is. Gone are the times when a handful of agents supplied insurance to everyone in town. Now there are thousands of insurance agents competing with each other for clients. With the economic downturn many agents are having a hard time making ends meet. With so many insurers and seemingly so few potential customers, how is an agent supposed to keep the doors open? The best approach is to always have a pile of new car insurance leads on your desk. You might think this is easier said than done. Advertising costs a lot of money, and it takes time before your new clients walk in the door. Cold calling is tedious and ineffective. However, it takes new leads to make new sales. Fortunately, the situation isn't as bad as you might think. There are a lot of drivers out there, and every one of them needs some form of insurance. So although it seems like people are reigning in their spending, they will still buy insurance . Indeed, many people are shopping around for better insurance rates, which means there is an increase in potential customers. The key to a successful insurance business is to get in contact with the people that are interested in buying insurance or changing policies. These are the leads you want on your desk, and if you have lots of these leads you will make plenty of sales. Luckily, it is easier (and more affordable) than ever before to get just these sort of quality auto insurance leads. Indeed, you don't have to cold call or pay for advertising. Today there are services that sell quality car insurance leads. These leads are made up of people who have actively searched out insurance quotes on the internet. When you buy leads like these, you are buying leads that will convert to sales. This is by far the easiest way to make much needed sales. The best part is, you can buy as many leads as you want, so you can always have a pile of fresh leads on the desk. The key to profit ing from online auto insurance leads like these, is to take advantage of them right away. Generally, when you purchase online car insurance leads, they are relatively new; they are made up people who queried about insurance very recently. That means you need to call them right away while buying insurance is still on their mind. The sooner you contact a new lead the better the odds you can close the sale before some other agent does. So if you feel your business isn't able to compete with the other insurers, maybe its time you start using online car insurance leads. They are worth their weight in gold, and they are hands down the most effective way to boost your sales and increase your clientele right away.
